Dr. Y. K. Mishra is among India's most eminent cardiothoracic surgeons. He has been practicing for over 32 years, is well-known, has conducted over 14,000 open-heart operations, and has used robotic surgery for more than 500 patients.

He has a strong interest in teaching, education, and research in addition to his clinical practice, and he has been asked to speak at conferences and universities all around the globe.

Also, he has presided over scientific sessions at national and international conferences in the United States, the United Kingdom, China, Italy, Japan, France, and the Far East.

During his classes in Thailand, Bangladesh, and Nepal, he has even put participants in the middle of real-life situations.

The esteemed S. S. Medical College in Rewa is where he earned both his MBBS and his master's degree in surgery (MP).

Then he went to the Bakulev Institute of Cardiovascular Surgery in Moscow, Russia, to get his doctorate in the field.

Dr. Mishra is the only practicing cardiologist to serve on the Board of Directors for the International Society of Minimally Invasive Cardiac Surgery. He is just the second Indian to get such an honor and the fourth Asian.

Dr. A. P. J. Abdul Kalam awarded him the Lifetime Achievement Award, and the Governor of Madhya Pradesh and the Chancellor of Rani Durgavati Vishwavidyalaya both awarded him the Honoris Causa degree of Doctor of Science.

He is a Fellow of the Association of Thoracic and Cardiovascular Surgeons in India and a Founding Member of the Indian College of Cardiology.

In addition to his research and treatment efforts, he established the Payasuni Heart Valve Foundation.

His specialty is minimally invasive heart surgery, which he does with great skill. Aortic surgery, coronary artery bypass grafting, and robotic surgery are all examples of cutting-edge medical technology.
