Dr. Sumit Singh, who graduated first in his class In 2000 at the All India Institute of Medical Sciences and been awarded the BL SONI Gold Medal, became a member of the AIIMS faculty.

In 2002, he opened AIIMS's Headache Clinic as the country's first government-run facility to treat headaches.

He is widely regarded as a leading authority on headache problems and was a key contributor to developing regional guidelines for treating headaches in India and neighboring regions.

In 2002, he was the first in India to administer Botulinum toxin for headaches, and he later expanded this practice to include patients with trigeminal neuralgia.

He is an accomplished expert in Parkinson's disease who has worked with patients to plan and program for The DEEP BRAIN STIMULATION SURGERY.

Apart from spasticity management, he is one of the few Botox injectors in the country who treats patients with writer's cramp, spasmodic torticollis, other dystonias, and hemifacial spasm and blepharospasm.

He has altered the plasma exchange protocols for those with Myasthenia gravis and Multiple Sclerosis and has done a good deal of study in these areas.

From 2009 through 2016, Dr. Sumit worked as the head of the Movement disorders and headache program at Medanta the Medicity, where he also served as the additional director of Neurology. He has authored 104 works for scholarly journals and 14 book chapters.
