Dr. Shyam Sunder Bansal has dedicated his life to treating cardiovascular disease. He now holds the position of chairman and managing director of SSB Heart & Multispecialty Hospital in Faridabad.

In the history of Haryana, he is the first ever to get his DM in cardiology. In 2002, he established the first hospital in the state whose only focus was treating cardiac patients.

He has the degrees of Doctor of Medicine (MD), Doctor of Philosophy (DM), and Diplomate of the National Board in Cardiology (DNB) in recognition of his exceptional achievements in the area of cardiology in the United States.

In 1994, at Escorts Hospital in Faridabad, Dr. S.S. Bansal became the first cardiologist in Haryana. The state's first heart hospital, Sun flag Hospital, was founded by him in 2002; during his leadership, several groundbreaking cardiac operations were implemented. He established SSB Heart & Multispecialty Hospital in 2020.

More than 50,000 cardiac surgeries, such as sophisticated angioplasties, pacemakers, rotavators, OCT, IVUS, Pressure wire, heart hole closure without surgery, etc., have been completed by him and his colleagues. To make "SSB a sought-after destination for healthcare by patients from India & Abroad" is one of his goals, while another is to reduce the cost of medical treatment for everyone.

As a trailblazer, he was the first in North India to use several cutting-edge techniques. Left main coronary artery angioplasties, complete chronic occlusions, and bifurcation blocks are his forte. He was an early adopter of the crusade, corsair, and retrograde methods for solving very difficult and aged blocks.

• In 2002, he established a heart facility, SSB Hospital in Faridabad, Haryana, where angioplasty, bypass surgery, and other cardiac procedures could be performed with high success rates.
• For nearly 26 years, he has cared for over 2 million cardiac patients.
• To date, he has performed over 35,000 operations, the majority of which were Angioplasties with stent placement in Haryana, where he has a significant presence.

Bansal serves as both chairmen of the cardiology department and as the hospital's managing director. The American College of Cardiology (ACS) Research & Media has recognized him as their "Best Cardiologist of the Year." Popular Bollywood actor Mr. Suniel Shetty gave him the award. Only S.S. Bansal of all Indian cardiologists has earned the American fellowships FSCAI and FACC (in 2009).

Awards and Recoginition

• NCR-Delhi Ratan award was given to him in 2017 for his outstanding contributions to the community.
• On Republic Day in 2011, the District government recognized him for his exceptional service to the community as a physician. He was awarded a medal by the Hon'ble minister of Haryana, Sukhbir Singh.
• Sh. Virbhadhra Singh, the Honorable Union Minister of Micro, Small & Medium Industry of the Government of India, presented him with the Entrepreneur of the Year 2011 award.
• The Indian Medical Association (IMA), Faridabad recognized him for saving the lives of hundreds of people in 2010 and 2011 due to his expertise in performing cardiac procedures such as angioplasty.
• In 2012, the Islamic Cultural Center of New Delhi honored him with the Rashtriya Gaurav Award.
• Deepender Huda's Parivar Kalyan Avam Swasthya mela and the Red Cross mela recognized him for his outstanding contributions to the community.
• The District Administration in Faridabad praised his efforts to improve the health of the elderly by giving free medical care.
