Dr. Neelam Mohan has worked in the field of pediatric gastroenterology and hepatology for over 25 years, making her a recognized expert in India. Dr. Neelam Mohan has performed several firsts in the field of pediatric liver transplantation. In the field of pediatric liver transplantation, she is also considered a pioneer. She pioneered the use of therapeutic endoscopy on infants and toddlers in India. She has written over fifty book chapters and over two hundred articles, many of which have been published internationally.
She has given talks at over 900 events, 200 of which were held in other countries. Invited speaker at international and global conferences in the United States, Europe, the United Kingdom, Canada, Japan, Dubai, Saudi Arabia, and other Asia Pacific countries. She has written multiple pediatric gastrointestinal, liver, and nutritional guidelines for use around the world.
National Health Authority of India (Aayushman Bharat – Pradhan Mantri – Jan Aarogya Yojna) has Dr. Neelam on staff as a consultant. She is assisting the Indian Ministry of Health and Family Welfare (ICMR) as the co-chair of the Standard Treatment Workflow (STW) for Pediatrics. She also serves as a consultant for the National Board of Examiners.
She has also received the Dr. Sadhana International Empowerment of Women Award and the DMA Centenary Award from the Finance Minister of India, in addition to the B.C. Roy Award and the Vashisht Chikitsa Ratan Award from the Honorable Lieutenant Governor of Delhi. She has led the Indian Society for Pediatric Gastroenterology, Hepatology, and Nutrition (ISPGHAN) and the Commonwealth Association for Pediatric Gastroenterology and Nutrition (CAPGAN).
