Therapeutic endoscopic retrograde cholangiopancreatography (ERCP) procedures, such as papillotomy, mechanical lithotripsy, biliary stenting, pancreatic stenting, drainage of pseudo pancreatic cyst, and other UGI and colonoscopic procedures, are among the many complex and difficult endoscopic procedures that Dr. Vij has performed with a high success rate.

More than 60 scholarly articles authored by Dr. J. C. Vji have been published in both national and international journals.

Dr. Vji also contributes to the Indian Journal of Tuberculosis as an editorial board member.

The doctor's advertisement, "A clinicopathological study of abdominal tuberculosis," published in the Indian Journal of Tuberculosis in 1992, won the R C Garg Memorial award for best advertisement.
